Artistic swimming is a hybrid form of swimming, gymnastics, and dance consisting of swimmers performing a synchronised routine of complex and dynamic underwater movements in the water accompanied by music. #HaveAGo is about inspiring Australians of all ages to start playing Olympic sports or to get back into the sport they love. Artistic swimming coaches are vital to giving young athletes the chance to fulfil their potential within the sport. There are several different artistic swimming coaching roles available in Australia, ranging from full-time professional coaches at one of the performance clubs to part-time and voluntary roles at smaller clubs. You don’t have to have been an artistic swimmer or been involved in artistic swimming at all to become a coach – ASA’s comprehensive artistic coaching courses cover all the complexities and techniques of the sport.

Artistic Swimming Judges are essential for running artistic swimming competitions as they provide scores based on the performance of each routine. All Artistic Swimming judges must be expertly trained to reduce subjectivity in scoring. They require a complete understanding of FINA and ASA’s rules and regulations for artistic swimming competitions. To maintain their qualification or progress, all judges must have a current judge accreditation and officiate at a certain number of grade assessments and competitions.
